Well I'm learning what its like to be a dad and never getting a solid night sleep and going to work and then trying to squeeze in a few runs.
I must say that I feel guilty leaving my wife alone all day with the baby and then when I get home I gear up to go back out while she hasn't seen the light of day yet. That is a pretty new feeling. Luckily my wife is great and encourages this over me sitting in front of the xbox.
We've been at home (NW Ohio / NE Indiana) since 6/10. This has allowed me to go for a run in my home town. I miss the complete flatness of my homeland. Believe it or not its a lot different than North East Ohio. There are no "Rolling Hills". I managed a 5k while I was in Hicksville.
I've been doing online trainings all week and sitting in front of the complete for that long really takes its toll. I squeezed in about 1.5 miles this afternoon in unknown territory on the south side of Ft. Wayne. Not in the residential area, but out toward the country. I was actually on a dirt road and it was rather nice.
The one extreme downside of these runs was that I managed to not only forget my iPOD but also my running shoes. I'm wearing my running shoes turned casual shoes from 3 years ago. They have zero padding and I am probably doing a bit more damage than what I should be doing.
I'm planning on a solid 6-8 mile run this weekend.
